During PSU Seminar class, I toured around the great Old Main building of Penn State. I even had a chance to go up the bell tower, which was an amazing experience (partly thanks to the great weather). Note the bell tower is only opened during the President's open houses, so I was lucky to go up there outside of the event.
Esteemed Architect Charles Z. Klauder designed the building in the Federalist Revival style, and it is one of the two greatest buildings he has ever designed, the other being the Cathedral Of Learning in Pittsburgh.
Inside, there are the famous frescos by Henry Varnum Poor that paid tribute to Penn State's original status as a Land Grant University.
